NCTI's Preventing Sexual Misconduct Against Offenders Facilitator Certification Training addresses the staff training standards adopted by the Department of Justice (DOJ), and provides agencies with prevention and identification strategies to reduce incidences of staff/offender sexual misconduct. The standards adopted by the DOJ will require criminal justice agencies to provide extensive training to staff, volunteers, and auxiliary personnel. This applies to agencies housing juvenile and adult offenders, including adult and juvenile probation residential facilities, parole and community corrections facilities, lockups, jails, and prisons. Additionally, the new standards will require agencies to adopt policies regarding zero tolerance, incident investigations, appropriate screening, and more.
This 21-hour Facilitator Certification Training, accredited by APPA, is a fast-paced, interactive course that instructs criminal justice professionals to effectively facilitate NCTI's 8-hour Preventing Sexual Misconduct Against Offenders curricula. The training uses reality-based scenarios, activities, role plays, and group interactions to provide the necessary tools for staff to effectively recognize and reduce staff and offender victimization. Additionally, the Facilitator Certification Training addresses the importance of individual learning styles and behavior. Practice sessions allow participants to become familiar with the NCTI Preventing Sexual Misconduct Against Offenders curriculum.
NCTI's Training Addresses:
1. Group process facilitation techniques
2. Motivational Interviewing Techniques utilizing open ended questions.
3. Understanding and apprection of participant learning styles.
4. Understanding and appreciation of facilitator communication and delivery patterns.
At the conclusion of the Certification Training, certified facilitators will have the ability to procure and deliver the curriculum and provide an 8-hour workshop covering NCTI's Preventing Sexual Misconduct Against Offenders.
